Does Templeton really annoy anyone else? I can't stand the character.

There's always a character that you can't stand--Prez in the beginning, Ziggy, et al. I don't know if there'll be anything that can redeem Templeton though...

[spoiler]Well, Marlo's pretty much been set up so it's just a wait and see to see if Lester can get enough on him through their illegal wiretap. Or will the department "catch" McNulty and Lester? I don't know how Marlo would find out that it was Herc--he wasn't in the room when Marlo gave Levy his number. But what was the deal at the end of the episode when Lester got the modem tone when Marlo made/got a call about Omar in the apartment? We wait.[/spoiler]

...or we find out right now if we have OnDemand! BWAHAHAHA! And yes, Templeton's a dick but I have a straaaaange feeling he may get some comeuppance. Though I also have a feeling that in pure Wire fashion his comeuppance will probably end up being more a slap on the wrist.

You will believe an Omar can fly!

I started this season with mixed feelings - I understand the newspaper storyline and all, but the newsroom just isn't all that interesting to me. I listen to people complain about their jobs & coworkers all day long, I don't need to see that on TV too, and the lingo isn't half as cool as street lingo. ... I'll show you 13 inches below the fold.... I think Gus is about the only likeable character there. One reviewer summed it up as the producer not being able to get over his hard feelings for his time there two decades ago.

But as they say... the street still the street. Nice to see the schoolkids getting some storytime again, they were the reasons Season 4 is my favorite (though I haven't seen season 3 yet.) Funny that some Season 2 characters just randomly popped back in again, as I had just finished watching that season before the current one started. So McNulty just started hooking up with Beadie like 4 years later, all of a sudden? And that scene with him banging that chick on the hood of his car - one of my coworkers is a former NYC cop and long ago told me stories of stuff like that hapenning all the time - he'd come across such a scene in a park or wherever and the other guy would just flash his badge and keep on banging away.

But what is up with Herc working for that lawyer? When and how did that happen? That's a little too neatly wrapped up for me - why would that guy hire a former cop who's job it was to bust the gangs?

Anybody else find they're watching the repeats on HBO all week long? I think I need to to pick up on some things I didn't catch right away - even one brief conversation can explain what's happening on the whole episode. Hard to believe there's only 5 episodes left of the greatest show of al time. That or the fact it's such a good show I can watch it over and over again and not get bored. And with the HBO satelittle dish package and I find an excuse to watch it 3 times a night. Well, maybe not, but... the option's there.

I don't know if I'm giving out any spoilers here, but some of the stuff you guys blacked out didn't seem like real spoilers to me. Generally speaking, I just don't know want to know about someone getting capped or not. Feel free to give me a comeuppance if ya'll think otherwise.
