check these out, some videos of N*E*R*D performing at spring break. I have a feeling these guys have a new website (and perhaps a game) coming soon?

I haven’t watched the new Jimmy Fallon show, but I’m a big Roots fan and I keep seeing clips of different musical performances. Thinking I may have to start recording this for the music. Here’s a great performance of PE and The Roots performing Bring Tha Noize last night.
Flav looks a little tired, but yesterday was his 50th birthday, so we’ll give him a break!
A few months ago I mentioned a release party I was at for Common’s collaboration with Microsoft on the Softwear line. Here’s a spot with him talking about the thoughts behind it…
Pharrell did a nice little piece on Current a few days ago, talking about the inspiration behind artst.com (formerly known as Heywire.) The site has been blowing up this month, a huge flood of new members and artwork and always inspiring stuff to check out. If you haven’t yet, get in on that!
ok, this post isn’t about a site I did, but a site I’m a fan of. Paul’s Boutique is 20 years old now, the Beastie Boys have a brand new site for it. Hot hot stuff here. Plenty of things to play with and explore. I really dig it.
And you can make your own Paul’s Boutique trading cards to commemorate your old-time experiences with the album. I added the drawing I did in high school. (which is still hanging, framed in my high school, as far as I know?)
Just launched a new lookbook for Billionaire Boys Club, highlighting items from their 8th season. We went a totally different direction this time, away from the page-turning style that we’d been using for a while. Now, people fly! Check it out. I think the animation works well with the photos. Flying people are fun.
Went to a “Microsoft party” last night… They’re putting out a t-shirt line, and Common designed some shirts for it. Microsoft seemed to be trying really hard to be cool. One of the displays was a big timeline of hip hop and Microsoft history, trying to link the two. Featuring a mug shot from when Bill Gates got arrested as a teenager. (street cred!)
The highlight of the night (aside from meeting Common, of course!) was watching Common perform UMC and freestyle with Biz Markie.
here are some photos I took, and a video that I did not take…
thanks val!
When I hear the word “Karaoke” it always makes me think of my old friend Sam, who told a bunch of us in elementary school that the correct pronunciation is “Kah – rah – oh – kay.” We probably mocked him at the time for pronouncing it like that, but that’s because we were jerks.
Anyway, now I’ll have to add another karaoke association in my head… Just launched a blog for Brian Raftery, who wrote a book about singing Karaoke. However you pronounce it, go check it out.
Hey look at that, Common has a new website and blog. You should check it out. I had a lot of fun with this one, and so far the reaction has been overly positive!
And this Fishbucket homepage has kind of evolved into more of a bloggy-type page than it used to be. Blogs Blogs everywhere! Will this newer Fishbucket style mean more frequent updates? I wouldn’t bet on it. But I wouldn’t bet against it either. Please be careful betting.
…I stay fresh like I’m wrapped in plastic. Stay tuned, THINK COMMON is coming soon…
